Ingredients

- 2 cups warm water (110°F/45°C)
- 2/3 cup white sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 6 cups bread flour
Instructions
- Dissolve sugar in warm water, then stir in yeast. Let sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
- Mix in salt and oil. Gradually add flour, 1 cup at a time, until dough forms.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down dough, divide in half, and shape into loaves.
- Place loaves in greased 9×5-inch pans, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- Use a thermometer to check water temperature for best yeast activation.
- Let bread cool completely before slicing for even cuts.
- Store in an airtight container to keep bread fresh.
