A simple and delicious crockpot butter chicken recipe that’s easy to prepare and packed with flavor.
Ingredients

- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp garam masala
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 can (14 oz) tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix yogurt, garam masala, turmeric, cumin, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Add chicken and coat well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Melt butter in a pan over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, and ginger. Cook until softened.
- Transfer the onion mixture to the crockpot. Add marinated chicken and tomato sauce. Stir well.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or high for 2-3 hours.
- Stir in heavy cream and cook for another 10 minutes.
- Garnish with cilantro and serve with rice or naan.
Notes
- For extra richness, add more butter before serving.
- Adjust cayenne pepper to control spiciness.
- Leftovers taste even better the next day.
