Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 can (14 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix yogurt, garam masala, turmeric, cumin, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Add chicken and coat well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  2. Melt butter in a pan over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, and ginger. Cook until softened.
  3. Transfer the onion mixture to the crockpot. Add marinated chicken and tomato sauce. Stir well.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or high for 2-3 hours.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and cook for another 10 minutes.
  6. Garnish with cilantro and serve with rice or naan.

  • For extra richness, add more butter before serving.
  • Adjust cayenne pepper to control spiciness.
