Ingredients

- 2 (8 oz) ribeye steaks
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Season steaks with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in pan over medium-high heat.
- Sear steaks for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare.
- Reduce heat, add butter, garlic, and thyme.
- Baste steaks with melted butter for 1 minute.
- Rest steaks for 5 minutes before serving.

- Use room temperature steaks for even cooking.
- Let pan get very hot before adding steaks.
