- 4 lbs pork shoulder
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions
- Rub pork shoulder with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan and sear pork on all sides.
- Transfer pork to a slow cooker, add 1/2 cup water, and cook on low for 8 hours.
- Shred pork with forks and mix with barbecue sauce.
- Toast hamburger buns lightly.
- Assemble sandwiches with pulled pork and serve.
Notes
- Pork shoulder can be replaced with pork butt.
- Adjust barbecue sauce amount to taste.
- Cook longer for more tender meat.
